August
August is going to be a tough month for the Swifts with 7 regulars from last season unavailable for selection due to holidays and work commitments. Fortunately pre-season has shown great improvement in a few of the younger squad members who will be given their chance to put their case forward for a starting place in the team.

11/08/06 - Early O'Kane Cup Exit
With 2nd Division status a priority this year, this was a good opportunity to try out a few new faces in a competitive game. A new defensive line-up showed its frailties and was readily exploited by an excellent Randalstown Athletic attack. The 7-4 scoreline did not flatter them. On the plus side, young striker Russell Craig got on the scoresheet along with Simon Murray who continues his great form from last season. New signing Andy Irwin also opened his account with a double on his debut for the club.

16/08/06 - Lisnafillan came from 2-0 down to rescue a point from their first league game of the season.

30/08/06 - Game vs Michelin Athletic abandoned due to poor lighting after a lengthy stop in play. Swifts' Jay Russell suffered a suspected leg fracture. After hospital examination we were glad to hear that Jay's injury was less serious with bruising to the bone and slight nerve damage. He aims to be back in 2/3 weeks.

September
16/09/06 - Swifts were glad to welcome back a fully fit Simon Murray for their game away to Seven Towers. The prolific striker completed a full ninety minutes, helping himself to 4 goals in the 5 - 1 victory.
